The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded a $9.6 million contract to AlliedSignal Technical Services Corp., for engineering services to support the agency’s environmental satellites.

The services will be provided to NOAA’s Office of Satellite Operations in Suitland, Md., operations of the GOES (geostationary operation environmental satellites) and POES (polar orbiting environmental satellites) spacecraft.

The contract is for one year, with options to extend it for three additional one-year periods.

AlliedSignal Technical Services is based in Columbia, Md. The company is a subsidiary of Honeywell Inc. [HON].
