General Dynamics [GD] selected Raytheon Co. [RTNA] to provide the total ground network infrastructure for the FAISAT global wireless data network being developed by proposed Little LEO operator Final Analysis. Additionally, Raytheon will be responsible for the wholesale and retail billing systems to facilitate the standardized accounting and billing process for national service providers and value-added resellers.

The value of the ground segment development, composed of the ground segment contract and equity investment by Raytheon in Final Analysis is valued at approximately $55 million.

The FIASAT system is designed to deliver new digital data and messaging services to mass markets, including Internet-related growth markets beginning in 2002. The system will use Final Analysis’ proposed LEO satellite constellation.
