Via Digital has extended interactive services related to football. Subscribers can watch Champions League matches from different angles, repeats of the match and three matches at the same time on a split screen. They can also get match summaries and information on the position of the different teams and competition statistics. There is no additional charge for subscribers of the Gran Via Channel, and about 40 per cent of the 270,000 subscribers to this channel regularly access these services. Via Digital has also signed an agreement with the Royal Spanish Federation of Winter Sports to develop interactive television. Via’s subscribers will now be able to buy products related to winter sports, including booking hotel rooms.
