CHELLO SEEKING BROADBAND PARTNER FOR LATIN AMERICA
Netherlands-based chello broadband n.v. a European provider of broadband Internet services to residential and business subscribers is looking for a partner to pursue its planned expansion into Latin America. That expansion would make the United Pan Europe Communications [UPCOY] subsidiary’s broadband service available on three continents–Australia, Europe and Latin America.
chello intends to provide high-speed broadband Internet service in Latin America within the next 12 months. Fares Nassar, regional director Latin America, will manage the Latin American operation. Nassar most recently headed his own company, Lotier International, a Latin American cable consultancy, until chello purchased Lotier’s assets, sales offices and staff operations.
“We are very excited about the potential for our service in Latin America, and our strategy is to partner with broadband network operators that are large enough to provide a substantial footprint, and nimble enough to move quickly,” said Mitch Clarke, chello’s managing director of sales and affiliate operations.
chello expects to roll out its service in Latin America within the next year, and is ready to partner with broadband network operators across the continent.
