Kinderkanal, the ARD/ZDF children’s television channel, will change its name to KiKa in May. The channel’s youngest viewers commonly use this abbreviation. The channel will also undergo a change of on-screen design. It had been rumoured that Kinderkanal could be turned into a part-time youth channel, with evening transmission. However, it currently shares a transponder with Arte.
