Canal+ Horizons, the Canal Plus channel for Africa and the Middle East, is to launch a digital platform for Algeria, transmitting from Hotbird. The bouquet will contain 17 channels to begin with, including Canal+ Horizons, Planete, MCM, Paris Premiere, Muzzik and Game One as well as a number of channels provided by the AB Group. Eursoport and Comedie will join the package next month. The Algerian-Swiss company Mosaic Networks will set up the local distribution network. Subscription to the whole bouquet, including the premium channel, will cost 1,600 Dinars a month (about Euro 23) and the digital terminal 25,000 Dinars. The launch represents an investment of Fr7 million in network equipment and local advertising. Canal Plus has a history of co-operation with Algeria.
