NETSAT EXPRESS, CISCO TEAM UP TO OFFER INTERNET SERVICES TO UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES
Hauppauge, N.Y.-based satellite Internet service provider NetSat Express announced an agreement with <ST>Cisco Systems Inc. [CSCO]<E> that will enable Cisco to build out its Internet infrastructure hardware in underdeveloped countries.
NetSat, a subsidiary of <ST>Globalcomm Systems Inc. [GCOM]<E>, will deploy the Cisco 7500/7200 series routers, the 3600 modular access multiservice platform and the Catalyst 6500 series switch.
“This agreement will give NetSat Express customers access to Cisco equipment that meets the reliability, serviceability and flexibility demands of today’s most mission critical networks,” said Ian Pennell, director of marketing for Cisco’s managed service access business unit. “And, aligning with NetSat Express helps Cisco extend its leading edge Internet-enabling technology into under-developed parts of the world.”
