The independent German media and technology alliance Free Universe Network (FUN) has gained six new members. In a statement, the digital platform confirmed that French pay-TV group Canal Plus, receiver manufacturer Radix and multimedia company Trend Network, as expected, have joined FUN. UK-based news channel BBC World and receiver manufacturers Humax and Scientific Atlanta have also become members. In total, the alliance founded nine months ago so far managed to acquire 37 members.

At the end of October, Augsburg-based software company Infomatec joined the interest group which favours an open, non-discriminating digital TV standard and opposes KirchGroup’s proprietary d-box technology.
