European satellite operator Eutelsat launched a new thematic arts channel on December 12 launched, which will be on the air up till December 31. Ars TV Eutelsat Premium Channel is dedicated to the biennial international exhibition, Arte & Comunicazione, which is currently underway in Rome. The channel is broadcast in digital free-to-air via Eutelsat Hot Bird, daily from 18:00 to 24:00 CET.

Besides coverage of the Rome exhibition, the channel will also broadcast video and TV productions which have received awards at major film and audiovisual festivals. The programme schedule of Ars TV Eutelsat Premium Channel will conclude with a special event on New Year’s Eve – live coverage of the arrival of new year from Hangzhou in China – which will later be also carried by Euronews and EBU members.
