KTO (pronounced Kato, the same as Catho, the common abbreviation for Catholic) is to launch on Lyonnaise Câ ble on December 13. The channel, with an annual budget of FFr30 million (Euro4.6 million), will transmit from 10:00 to midnight and carry specially targeted advertising. It will feature four hours of new programmes a day, including two live 30-minute masses and a one hour programme at 19:00, highlighting the day’s output, presented by a different well known personality each day covering issues of current interest.

KTO is intended to be interactive, using video mail. A partnership with a distributor of webcams is still being finalised.
