The worldwide corporate business channel from American-German automobile company DaimlerChrysler launched on September 1 at 1100 CET. The service, called DCTV, is the worldis first global TV channel for employees which transmits daily up-to-date information in seven languages.

The channel aims to reach more than 420,000 employees in 36 countries on five continents. All locations with more than 100 employees are technically equipped to receive DCTV, which consists of three different channels, including broadcasting of training programmes for closed-group audiences. DCTVis studios are based at Daimleris headquarters in Stuttgart, serving Europe, South Africa, South America, Asia, Africa and Australia while the United States, Canada and Mexico are served by studios in Auburn Hills. In 182 locations, local text pages inform employees about news in their particular plant. For Europe, DCTV transmits encrypted on Hot Bird 3 (13 degrees East), transponder 76 (12.236 GHz V, SR 13.400, FEC 3/4). Contribution feeds are sent via DFS Kopernikus 2 FM 2 (28.5 degrees East).
