Gilat Satellite Networks received more than $18 million in recent in-flight connectivity (IFC) orders, the company announced on Dec. 30. The orders are scheduled for delivery in the next 12 months. The orders are mainly for Gilat SkyEdge platforms, related services and solid state power amplifiers (SSPAs).

The IFC market remains a critical one for Gilat and the company aims to provide an architecture that enables reliable satellite connectivity, supporting what it sees as the rapid expansion of IFC networks.

“These orders reflect the growing demand for advanced connectivity solutions for the IFC market, which is a strategic market for us. Gilat’s technology is designed to equip service providers with the scalability and performance needed to meet this demand head-on,” said Amir Yafe, vice president of Mobility & Global Accounts for Gilat.

Gilat is in the process of acquiring aero terminal manufacturer Stellar Blu Solutions to further increase its position in the IFC market.
