Hughes Network Systems hit the milestone of shipping more than 5,000 electronically steerable antennas (ESA) for service with the Eutelsat OneWeb Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation.

The HL1120W terminal is a fixed terminal for outdoor installation with a phased array antenna and no moving parts. The terminal has been tested to support service via the OneWeb network at speeds of 195 Mbps down and 32 Mbps up. Hughes manufactures the terminals at a new company facility in Germantown, Maryland.

“We are seeing a digital transformation of both business and government services. This is creating a future where high-speed, low-latency connectivity needs to be ubiquitous,” said Paul Gaske, COO of Hughes. “The EchoStar family of companies is meeting this demand by developing enterprise-class technologies that are multi-orbit, multi-transport, and globally available.”
