MDA Space selected Aerospacelab to provide battery charge regulators (BCRs) for the supply chain for its Aurora digital satellite product line. This includes the Aurora anchor customer, Telesat’s Lightspeed Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation.

Aerospacelab is contracted to deliver more than 200 units over three years. The first deliveries are scheduled by 2026. Belgium-based Aerospacelab announced the deal on Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This is a “pivotal moment” for the company, Aerospacelab CEO Benoit Deper told Via Satellite

The contract win shows that Aerospacelab is “trusted by the most demanding customers. The engineering office and production plan and quality processes we have in place meet those requirements. This is the biggest win, [more than the] financial aspect of the contract,” Deper says.

MDA Space has been investing in its supply chain for the Aurora product line and Telesat Lightspeed constellation, including a recent deal with German company Tesat to supply optical communication terminals for the constellation.
