The Hughes Network Systems HL1120W flat panel antenna is now commercially available with service on the Eutelsat OneWeb network, the company announced Tuesday. The terminal will support a variety of enterprise and government uses.

The HL1120W is an electronically steerable antenna-based (ESA) terminal. It is a full-duplex, self-aligning terminal with a built-in modem. The terminal is designed to function right out of the box and self-point to the satellite constellation. It is designed to enable high bandwidth low latency communications over the Eutelsat OneWeb Ku-band Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network.

“Using our decades of experience with Low-Earth Orbit systems and our detailed understanding of the Eutelsat OneWeb system, we are delivering a high-performance connectivity solution that brings reliable, enterprise-grade LEO connectivity to remote locations,” said Dan Rasmussen, senior vice president and general manager, North America Enterprise Division, Hughes. “This technology is a game changer, and we are proud to be working closely with Eutelsat OneWeb to bring our solution to the broader market.”

Hughes is a OneWeb distributor and can deploy the company’s LEO capacity as a managed service. The company said its  managed LEO service supports customers in the military, government agencies, and public safety communities, retailers, and energy companies. Hughes developed the gateway and core modem module for all OneWeb terminals, and the company manufactures this terminal in Maryland.
