LeoLabs and Aalyria announced a new partnership to work together on contract opportunities dealing with space awareness. Aalyria plans to integrate LeoLabs’ space traffic database into its network orchestration platform, according to the Monday announcement.

LeoLabs offers space operations software to track missions in Low-Earth Orbit, and has a network of ground radars. Aalyria offers a network orchestration platform, and is developing laser communications.

The companies said that LeoLabs’ data will serve as a “source of truth” for Aalyria’s Spacetime software to model objects in LEO for mission planning and operations purposes, which is important for interference. They plan to collaborate on contract opportunities, including for the U.S. Department of Defense. Aalyria has deals in place with a number of defense tech firms.

“Communications infrastructure is critical to our daily lives and increasingly linked across multiple domains, including space,” said LeoLabs CEO Dan Ceperley, “By layering our space safety services with Aalyria’s network orchestration solutions, we hope to ensure that the growing hybrid communication networks are secured in today’s complex, crowded, and contentious space domain.”
