Advantech Wireless announced that Promexar has selected its Transcend 800-B microwave radio for a microwave backhaul system in Monterrey, Mexico. The Transcend 800-B radio solution includes built-in interfaces for Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) (in & out), Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and E1, 10 MHz clock and 1 pulse-per-second, carrying native video, native Internet Protocol (IP) and native Time-division Multiplexing (TDM) traffic simultaneously.

The microwave radio systems from Advantech Wireless are designed to suit specific customer applications. According to the company, this secure platform provides high reliability with lower operational and support costs.

Advantech Wireless’ Transcend 800 microwave radio carries native video, IP and TDM traffic, where traffic is combined directly in the radio frame. This is a critical feature for demanding customers because the typical alternative — encapsulating video and TDM traffic over Ethernet — has negative system and performance implications. According to the company, the Transcend 800 microwave radio is a high capacity, high performance and flexible solution for demanding transmission, telecom and broadcast applications. It is available in either split-mount or all-indoor configurations and operates in Radio Frequency (RF) bands ranging from 5 GHz to 42 GHz.
