[Via Satellite 04-15-2016] Advantech Wireless has launched a new family of advanced Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) modems with bi-directional throughputs ranging from 100Kbps to 850Mbps and carrier echo cancellation technology. The new AMT-50/50X modems support the gamut of the Digital Video Broadcast-Satellite Second Generation X (DVB-S2X) standard’s modulation and coding, from Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) to up to 256 Amplitude and Phase Shift Keying (APSK). The AMT-50/50X are part of Advantech Wireless’ A-SAT-2 satellite communications family and are capable of delivering spectral efficiency improvements of up to 60 percent for satellite bandwidth savings, according to the company.
The AMT-50 modem supports bandwidths of up to 36Msps suitable for a 36MHz transponder, including the DVB-S2X time slice number concept. The AMT-50X reaches up to 80Msps, suitable for a 72MHz transponder or up to an 80MHz DVB-S2X time slice. Both models support multiple waveforms such as DVB-S/S2/S2X, NS3, and NS4 along with other features.
