[Via Satellite 03-30-2016] MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) has received two contracts from DigitalGlobe to provide new ground station solutions for two international customers. MDA ground stations enable local control, satellite data reception, and the option to process data in near real-time or send it to archive for future use.

Through the multi-million dollar contract, MDA will supply ground stations to receive and process imagery and data from DigitalGlobe’s satellite constellation. The stations will also be configurable to receive and process data from the Radarsat 2 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, enabling future integration of electro-optical and radar imagery capabilities.
