[Via Satellite 08-03-2015] NASA’s former deputy administrator Lori Garver has joined MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates’ (MDA) board of directors, effective immediately.

Garver served as deputy administrator at NASA from 2009 to 2013, and from 1996 to 2001, she worked within the agency’s office of policy and plans, culminating in reporting directly to the NASA administrator on NASA’s policies and long range plans. Outside of NASA, Garver was executive director of the National Space Society for nine years and worked for Capital Space, and DFI International as a vice president. She currently serves as general manager of the Air Line Pilots Association.

“Lori brings a wealth of experience and will help guide the company as we continue to expand within the United States,” said Robert Phillips, MDA’s chairman of the board.
