[Via Satellite 04-16-2015] Kymeta Corporation announced that its board of directors has appointed Nathan Kundtz as CEO and Marc Stolzman as CFO. Kundtz previously held the position of president and CTO at Kymeta. Stolzman previously held the position of CFO at Zulily.
After conducting award-winning, highly-cited research at Duke University, Kundtz was recruited to Intellectual Ventures where he led the development of the metamaterials technology used in Kymeta’s satellite antennas. A member of Kymeta’s founding team in 2012, Kundtz became its CTO to direct the company’s strategic product development. In June 2014 Kundtz was appointed as the president of Kymeta.
Marc Stolzman joins Kymeta as CFO with a wealth of experience growing innovative companies, most recently serving as CFO of Seattle-based retailer Zulily, where he led the company through its IPO in 2013. Stolzman has more than 20 years of business and financial operations experience, previously serving as CFO at Zumiez, Blue Nile, and Imperium Renewables.
Kymeta’s new mTenna suite of satellite antennas is based on metamaterials technology. These ultra-thin antennas use a holographic approach to electronically acquire, steer and lock a beam to any satellite. The flat, lightweight and cost-effective satellite tracking antennas are designed to work seamlessly for communications in high-volume markets where traditional antennas are not currently practical or feasible, such as maritime, automotive and aviation.
