[Via Satellite 08-14-2014] Applied Systems Engineering has released the Model 177Ka Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifier capable of providing 750 Watts of peak power at duty cycles of up to 10 percent from 34 to 36 GHz. The new model was designed with a heightened focus on the generation of the output Radio Frequency (RF) pulse shape. The Model 177Ka’s RF output pulse width tracks the input 5-volt video pulse.

The device has a pulse width range of 0.05 to 30μs and a Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF) of zero to 100 KHz. DC-DC converter designs operating at 50 KHz make up the internal power supplies, with fast loop response times so that output level variations are minimal for any PRF, including non-periodic or burst types.

The Model 177Ka has plug in PC boards that can be accessed through the front panel, and the PC card cover has a legend for PC card located test points and controls.
