[Via Satellite 10-30-13] Tata Elxsi and Algotochip have partnered to provide rapid Systems on a Chip (SoC) solutions and services targeted at OEMs and custom chipmakers. The companies’ first collaboration will develop digital chips and IP blocks that can support next-generation video services embedded with 4K High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) technology leveraging Tata Elxsi’s HEVC Ultra-HD (4K) software. The IP blocks and services are targeted for an array of proliferating smart CE devices such as smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, gaming consoles and media players among others.

Algotochip offers technology to uniquely partition a customer’s C-code into optimized hardware and firmware required for a complete solution to an application. This shortens the time-to-market for SoCs and reduces costs in the overall design process. It also provides optimum device performance in terms of power consumption, die area and cost.
