Maxar Intelligence continues to hire for its executive team, announcing three new leaders on Wednesday including Matt Santangelo as chief financial officer. Santangelo was most recently CFO of cybersecurity company Forcepoint and is a former longtime Raytheon exec.

Maxar also hired Matt Jenkins as chief space systems officer (CSSO). He is tasked with architecting the future of Maxar’s on-orbit technology, including defining the roadmap for WorldView Legions 7 and 8. Jenkins has held senior engineering roles at Amazon’s Project Kuiper and Raytheon. He was most recently head of engineering for Kuiper Government Solutions.

And Peter Wilczynski joined the company as chief product officer (CPO) earlier this summer from Palantir. At Palantir, Wilczynski led the development of the company’s flagship Ontology System that serves as the backbone of its AI-powered products and services. At Maxar he will focus on building more advanced, AI-powered software solutions.

Maxar Intelligence has made a number of moves to build an executive team after splitting Maxar into two businesses and alongside the launch of the first four WorldView Legion satellites. Last month, Maxar Intelligence opened a new London office to boost its international presence.

“With the successful launch of WorldView Legion, Maxar has a once-in-a-decade opportunity to develop next-generation capabilities that combine cutting-edge hardware and software elements into an integrated system which can deliver ground truth in near real-time,” Wilczynski commented. “In doing so, we can give our customers a strategic advantage, helping them keep nations safe, improve navigation and protect our planet.”
