All. Space’s new CEO Paul McCarter, left, and founder John Finney, right.

John Finney, who founded satellite terminal company All.Space, is stepping down from his role as CEO. All.Space announced Wednesday that Paul McCarter will succeed Finney as CEO, effective immediately.

Finney was previously the chief commercial officer of O3b Networks. He founded the company in 2013 as Isotropic Systems to design a multi-orbit antenna to match the innovation of multi-orbit satellite constellations. The company rebranded as All.Space in 2022

All.Space’s core technology is a multi-orbit, multi-beam satellite terminal that allows end users to connect with multiple satellites in multiple orbits at the same time with full-performance links. This has been validated in tests with the U.S. military

Finney wrote in a LinkedIn post that one of the most crucial lessons he has learned as a founder is when to pass the baton. He will continue to be involved with the company as founder and board director.

“Building something from the ground up is a journey driven by passion and dedication, but true leadership also means recognizing when fresh perspectives and diverse skill sets can propel the company to greater heights,” Finney wrote. By stepping down as CEO, I’m ensuring that All.Space has the right leadership to embrace the exciting opportunities ahead.”

McCarter joined All.Space in January as chief operations officer. Finney said that McCarter’s transition to CEO has been “meticulously planned” over a six-month period to ensure continuity for customers as the company prepares to ramp up activity.

McCarter previously served in the British Army and has had a career in CEO and managing director roles in Racal, Thales, Cobham and Serco.

“I am thrilled to lead All.Space at this pivotal moment,” McCarter commented. “John Finney’s vision has laid a robust foundation with our revolutionary satellite technology. Together with John and our dynamic team, I am excited to accelerate our growth and expand our cutting-edge solutions to a broader range of clients.”
