AvL Technologies Makes Management Changes With CEO’s Retirement

      AvL Technologies has announced changes to its executive team with the retirement of CEO Guy Clerici.

      The company’s owner and founder Jim Oliver semi-retired in 2022 and appointed Clerici to serve as interim CEO during this transitional period and while a new chairman of the board was selected. AVL announced July 10 the company has appointed Shannon Smith as chairman of the board.

      David Bowne, who was appointed president and COO in 2023 will continue in this role, assuming all operational responsibilities. He now reports directly to the board.

      The transition, which has occurred over the past two years, included the retirement of several senior leadership team members who remain engaged with the company. AvL said that its ‘next generation’ of leaders are well-prepared to serve customers and meet future challenges.

      “I look forward to working closely with David Bowne and the AvL senior leadership team. David’s leadership and operational expertise will ensure AvL continues to lead the industry with the rugged and reliable satcom products our customers expect,” Shannon Smith, chairman of AvL Technologies, said in a statement.
