Kymeta has named a new CEO, hiring Rick Bergman, formerly of AMD and Synaptics, to lead the company, effective April 1. The company’s co-CEOs, Doug Hutcheson and Walter Berger, are retiring at the end of March. Kymeta is a flat panel satellite antenna company, based in Redmond, Washington.

Bergman joins Kymeta after serving as executive vice president of Computing and Graphics at AMD. He was previously president and CEO of computer technology company Synaptics. Kymeta said his experiences include steering organizations towards capitalizing on market opportunities with innovative technologies, leading to market growth.

The company also announced that it recently closed a Series D funding round, but did not disclose the amount raised.

In addition, Nicole Piasecki, who joined Kymeta’s board in May 2022, will succeed Doug Hutcheson as chair of the board. She has an extensive background from the aerospace and defense sector.

“Kymeta is at the forefront of connecting the world through its hybrid communication solutions.  With Rick Bergman’s track record of driving value-led growth in the technology sector bolstered by disciplined execution, we eagerly anticipate the next phase of growth for Kymeta,” Piasecki commented.
