Gilat Satellite Networks has made further inroads into the lucrative In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) market. It has won a multi-million dollar order from an unnamed IFC service provider to provide its Taurus Aero modems. Gilat announced the deal, April 8.
Taurus is a modem solution for IFC already deployed globally across tens of commercial airlines. Taurus aims to deliver all satellite communication needs for multi-orbit constellations and Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS) and aims to enable the delivery of reliable, high-performance connectivity solutions to air travellers.
“We are honored to have been selected once again to expand and upgrade mission-critical In-Flight Connectivity services. This selection underscores the trust and confidence that industry leaders place in Gilat’s advanced satellite communication solutions. We look forward to continuing to drive innovation and deliver superior IFC experiences to aviation customers around the world,” Amir Yafe, VP of Mobility & Global Accounts at Gilat, said in a statement.
