A new study from Mountain View, Calif.-based Frost & Sullivan titled "World Airport Ground Equipment Markets" envisions a huge market for GPS-based landing systems. The study says that the biggest world market growth will be in the Asia-Pacific region. "Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia have seen a growth in the middle class which contributes to the increase in flight travel with those particular countries," the study says. Overall, the size of the airport ground equipment market will grow to more than $1 billion by 2002. "This growth can be attributed to the expiration of some FAA contracts," said Diane Rejman, a Frost & Sullivan aerospace analyst. In 1994, the market size was $757.6 million. The market increased to $818.5 million in 1995. (Amanda Christensen, Frost & Sullivan, 415/971-9000, ext. 231., [email protected].)
