D-Orbit USA has selected Spectrum AMT as its manufacturing partner in the U.S. to support satellite bus design, manufacturing, and business development.

The deal announced Tuesday is with Spectrum Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, a subsidiary of Ocutrx Technologies. Spectrum’s services will include material management, printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing, harness manufacturing, and final assembly of satellite panels, buses, and solar arrays.

As part of the agreement, Spectrum is expanding its facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a 7,500 square foot renovation. This will include a clean room for assembling multiple satellite buses.

Spectrum CEO Jeff Gilbert said in a release the company is dedicating “a large portion of manufacturing space for them.”

D-Orbit USA is the new U.S. subsidiary of Italian space logistics company D-Orbit established in 2024 to target the U.S. market. The company is led by Mike Cassidy, former CEO of Apollo Fusion.

“We are excited to kick off this partnership as high-reliability manufacturing is instrumental to our success, and we are thrilled to have Spectrum as our manufacturing partner. The Spectrum team has been a longtime leader in the production of never-fail satellite electronics and assemblies, which makes us proud to partner together to meet the needs of our customers,” Cassidy said.
