[Via Satellite 08-08-2014] The Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in Brazil, have completed the Security Assessment Report (SAR) for the collaborative CubeSat project PEA 14 in Japan. PEA 14 will be sent back to Brazil in September before shipping to the United States for launch to the International Space Station (ISS).

Once at the station, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s (JAXA) SmallSat launch company Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JAMSS) will deploy the spacecraft. The Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) provided funding for PEA 14, which was built by students. This is Brazil’s second SmallSat project.
