SatVu is looking to reach the U.S. government market by offering its archive of high-resolution HotSat-1 imagery to U.S. government agencies through the Global Data Marketplace (GDM). This program streamlines access to commercial space-based data, enabling U.S. Government (USG) agencies to secure insights for Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking (TacSRT). SatVu announced the move on Feb. 11.
HotSat-1 was SatVu’s pathfinder satellite that was operational from June to December 2023. The satellite captured thermal imaging across more than 50 countries in both day and night. It experienced an anomaly on orbit that impacted operations.
Later this year, the launch of HotSat-2 will further expand SatVu’s data archives, increasing the availability of critical insights.
“The inclusion of the HotSat-1 archive in SSC’s Global Data Marketplace marks a significant milestone, giving users across defence, intelligence, and civilian sectors access to insights that were previously beyond reach. With our MWIR thermal imaging, users can capture the unseen,” Anthony Baker, CEO and co-Founder of SatVu said in a statement.
