The Peruvian Air Force (PAF) is using satellite connectivity via the SES-14 Geostationary (GEO) high throughput satellite for its bases and pilots and to improve operations across the country, SES announced Wednesday.

SES is providing the PAF with a turnkey solution including the delivery and installation of communications hardware, along with training. The SES-14 satellite, which entered service in 2018, has flexible HTS beams that enable high-performing, forward-return connectivity for real-time information exchange.

SES joined President of Peru Dina Boluarte, at the Las Palmas Air Base in Lima, Peru, this week to launch the Peruvian Air Force’s new satellite communication system, powered by SES-14.

PAF is advancing its digital transformation ambitions, said Gen. Marcos Francisco Robles Bocanegra, director of Telematics for the Peruvian Air Force. “Real-time connectivity for the Air Force is a game-changer as it allows taking informed decisions in a timely way,” Robles said.

Other customers on SES-14 include Panasonic for aero connectivity, and broadband service in Guatemala, Chile and Peru, and Colombia
