Orbit Communications Systems has won a new deal from the Israeli Ministry of Defense. It will provide multi-purpose satellite communication terminals (MPTs) for mobile and stationary ground platforms. The deal is valued at just over $9 million. The systems are scheduled for delivery during 2025. Orbit announced the deal on Dec. 2.

Orbit’s line of MPTs, including the MPT-30 and MPT-46, aim to be compact and powerful to ensure seamless broadband connectivity in the most challenging terrains. These terminals are designed for over 126 Mbps for downloads and 29 Mbps for uploads. This aims to ensure that high-volume data, including live video streams, can be transmitted without interruption, a critical factor for mission success. The terminals comply with MIL-STD and civil standards as well as with international, national and satellite satcom regulations. They are compatible with military satellite systems.

“This strategic win represents a significant milestone for Orbit, reinforcing our position as a trusted technology partner for defense organizations worldwide. It reflects the great confidence in Orbit’s technological capabilities, as we provide satellite communication systems for various maritime, ground, and airborne platforms to global customers, including airborne platforms of the U.S. military and NATO countries,” Daniel Eshchar, CEO of Orbit, said in a statement.
