Telespazio and Hughes Europe will collaborate to launch new connectivity services through Eutelsat’s Konnect VHTS (K-VHTS) satellite. Hughes and Telespazio announced the partnership, Dec. 11. The collaboration between Telespazio and Hughes Europe aims to enable governments to use modern applications and provide online services to their citizens.

The agreement will see the two companies take charge of the K-VHTS services launch phase, targeting both the government and enterprise broadband market segments across Europe. The K-VHTS satellite has very high throughput, delivering 230 beams over Western Europe and a Ka-band capacity of 500 Gbps, which makes it one of the largest GEO satellites ordered to date in Europe. The K-VHTS satellite is built on the Hughes JUPITER System, and the companies will utilize Hughes JUPITER terminals.

“I am pleased to share with a champion like Hughes Network Systems Europe the ambition to provide revolutionary services for the government and enterprise markets. Our respective expertise and geographic presence form the ideal basis for achieving our goals” Alessandro Caranci, SVP Satellite Communication Line of Business, Telespazio, said in a statement.
