Intelsat General Skot Butler

[Via Satellite 03-18-2016] Intelsat has promoted Skot Butler to president of Intelsat General Corporation, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary that provides satellite communications solutions to military, commercial and government customers. Butler replaces Kay Sears, who left to pursue a new professional opportunity. She was president of Intelsat General since 2008, having joined the company in 2006 through Intelsat’s acquisition of PanAmSat.

Butler begins his new role on April 4, and will continue to be based in McLean, Va. In his new role, he will oversee Intelsat General’s strategic direction, operational plans and execution of the company’s overall mission. Butler, who joined the company in 2006, most recently served as vice president of satellite networks and space services at Intelsat General.
