[Via Satellite 09-16-2014] The United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has awarded a $19 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to Harris Corporation for as many as 1,500 Falcon 3 AN/PRC-152A wideband radios and accessories.

The U.S. Department of Defense uses the AN/PRC-152A wideband tactical radios for ground-to-air communications and enhanced battlefield situational awareness. According to Harris Corp., the radios meet current and emerging mission requirements through the use of a full suite of integrated line-of-sight, beyond-line-of-sight and wideband communications. To date the company has shipped more than 45,000 of the radios to both the DoD and customers in more than 15 allied nations.
