[Via Satellite 07-09-2014] Raytheon has completed a test using its Miniaturized Airborne GPS Receiver 2000 (MAGR2K) that exceeded the technical requirements for navigation and jamming levels. The U.S. Air Force used the MAGR2K in a next-gen military code GPS signal demonstration in a jamming environment.
The receiver used the Raytheon Advanced Digital Antenna Production (ADAP) system along with a specialized M-code receiver card. Raytheon said the test is the first for the M-code receiver card in an avionics GPS receiver. The company added that M-code technology is easily updated; meaning existing military aircraft would not need to replace the entire GPS receiver.
