[Via Satellite 06-13-2014] Exelis acquired Celestech, a technology and engineering firm that develops targeted technical solutions for government and commercial customers, leveraging expertise in advanced signal processing and communications systems. Upon close of the transaction, Celestech will become part of the Electronic Systems division within Exelis.

“The Celestech acquisition enhances our ability to provide fighting forces with freedom of action through secure, seamless data sharing,” said Rich Sorelle, corporate vice president at Exelis and president of the Exelis Electronic Systems division. “Leveraging Celestech’s capabilities will help us respond to our customers’ increasing needs for greater data throughput and adaptability while strengthening our strategic growth platforms.”

Celestech will also assist Exelis in expanding capabilities in Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) missions.
