[Satellite TODAY 05-31-13] Space-based automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is a logical extrapolation of terrestrial antenna-based ADS-B and may be the only way to use this surveillance technology in oceanic, mountainous, or extremely remote areas. It could also serve as an alternative for air navigation service providers (ANSP) looking for a more economical early deployment of ADS-B in their national airspace.

Join Via Satellite’s sister publication Avionics Magazine together with speakers from ADS-B Technologies, and Globalstar in the upcoming June 5 webinar “Real-Space-Based ADS-B for NextGen,” to explore the fusion of a small company’s innovative approach with a global satellite communications provider. This may just be the foundation of a safer and more efficient worldwide air traffic surveillance system in the future.
