[Satellite TODAY 02-12-13] Newtec has signed a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) to streamline the process for acquisition of Newtec satellite equipment and ensure NATO countries have accelerated access to Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware, software and services.
Newtec’s satellite communications equipment offers solutions for intelligence and national security, airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, ground fixed communications, morale, welfare and recreation, disaster recovery, civil government networks and Non-Government organizations (NGOs).
“As a long term partner to many government and defense organizations operating within NATO, this agreement will serve to streamline the process and reduce barriers for forces and countries wanting to benefit from our COTS,” Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec, said on a statement.
