[Satellite TODAY 12-21-12] Harris has won a fifth option year valued at $66 million from the Air Force on its Network and Space Operations and Maintenance (NSOM) contract, Harris announced Dec. 20.
According to the NSOM contract, Harris operates, maintains and logistically supports the Air Force Space Command’s 50th Space Wing, which aims to manage inbound and outbound data and communications with Defense Department satellites. Included in Harris’ services are furnishing operations and maintenance for the Air Force Satellite Control Networks equipment at 10 locations around the world.
The overall potential value of the of the six-and-a-half year contract is $418 million.
