The contracts are for the delivery of commercial satellite communications capabilities to the U.S. Department of Defense. Amos-3 is located at 4 degrees West and Amos-5 is positioned at 17 degrees East. The capacity aims to enable reliable two-way communications with the U.S.  Armed Forces stationed in Europe who are training for missions in the Middle East.
“We have worked together with DRS Technical Services since 2007 to provide powerful and dependable satellite capacity for the Department of Defense,” Spacecom Vice President of Sales Drew Marks said in a statement. “Our Amos-3 and Amos-5 satellites offer services to U.S. customers requiring reach into the Middle East and back to Europe. These two new contracts are testimony to our team’s fine work and the superior solutions we provide.”
DRS Technical Services is one of the prime contractors supplying the U.S. government with integrated communication services for field users who have requirements for global fixed satellite service (FSS) bandwidth, as well as related business and enterprise satellite-based services and applications.
