[Satellite TODAY 10-09-12] ITT Exelis has released its upgraded version of the management and broadcasting video and imagery Jagwire software, Jagwire 1.2, designed to reduce the time it takes to review and exploit large amounts of data generated from consistent wide-area surveillance, Exelis announced Oct. 9.

“The proliferation of sensing collection systems has overwhelmed traditional management systems with a flood of data,” Exelis Geospatial Systems Vice President and General Manager, Geospatial Intelligence Solutions, Richard Cooke said in a statement. “Jagwire 1.2 gives warfighters one seamless user interface to search, discover and exploit still imagery, wide-area motion imagery, light detection and ranging (LiDAR) and full-motion video, providing faster access to mission-critical data than before.”
With the increased data retrieved from wide-area persistent surveillance, Jagwire 1.2 aims to quickly process, filter, and calculate mission-specific intelligence data in order to help forces efficiently execute their missions. This faster data exploitation is achieved through enhanced interaction between the system and its tactical operators, along with support for the 4.0 version of the Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Integrated Backbone (DIB).
