[Satellite TODAY 09-18-12] Canadian satellite technology and essential information solutions provider MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) has signed a multi-million dollar sole source delivery order under its Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), MDA announced Sept. 18.
The delivery order is for the provision of Radarsat-2 information to be used by the National Ice Center in creating ice charts supporting environmental monitoring and improving the safety of maritime navigation.
MDA is currently working with Loral Space & Communications to provide additional information to the U.S. Department of Justice in connection with an agreement the two companies reached in June for MDA to acquire satellite manufacturer Space Systems/Loral (SS/L).
