[Satellite TODAY 04-11-12] Canadian antenna manufacturer C-Com Satellite Systems has received $1 million in orders for its iNetVu mobile antenna products from an unnamed customer in Russia, the company announced April 10.

C-Com said the customer would use the satellite antenna systems for oil and gas exploration, military communication and disaster management and that some of the systems have already shipped, with the balance to be delivered before the end of April. A number of antenna systems were configured with the iNetVu 7000C controllers, which support the Glonass satellite navigation system — Russia’s version of the U.S.-based GPS system.
“The Russian market continues to contribute significantly to C-Com’s revenue stream and is an important and rapidly growing market for our company,” C-Com President and CEO Leslie Klein said in a statement. “Russian customers value the cost effectiveness and high-reliability of our iNetVu antenna systems which, in many instances, are deployed to deliver life saving communication solutions.”
