[Satellite TODAY 02-15-12] Satellite communications infrastructure, solutions, and teleport services provider UltiSat has been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract under its Custom Satcom Solutions/Small Business (CS2-SB) program, UltiSat announced Feb. 14.

   The CS2-SB is a three-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quality contract that will allow UltiSat to provide emergency response and disaster recovery communications systems, satellite-based backup communications networks, distributed distance learning networks and COTM/ISR solutions.

   The overall contract vehicle contains projected spending of up to $900 million over the next five years.

   “UltiSat is well positioned as a qualified small business to provide those services required by US government personnel to complete their missions. The government recognizes that well-run small businesses like UltiSat can partner with end users to meet their needs efficiently and cost effectively,” UltiSat Vice President of Government Systems Michael Pollack said in a statement.
