[Satellite TODAY 10-14-11] Vizada was selected by French Navy patroller vessel Cormoran to satellite broadband and airtime connection for various missions such as French coastal approach surveillance and European community fishing controls, Vizada confirmed Oct. 13.
Vizada partnered with Satlink to install an Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminal aboard the patroller vessel, along with a series of Vizada solutions to help optimize the connectivity service by enabling an online messaging service and a SkyFile mail system for the ship’s captain and crew.
“High-speed communications is vital for the missions of Cormoran. The crew needs to be able to depend on the system for checking weather patterns and for emergency response. Vizada and Satlink were able to provide a great combination of high speed broadband and airtime, along with several applications that make using the connection easy and affordable,” the vessel’s commanding officer Lucas Saliou said in a statement.
