[Satellite TODAY 09-26-11] Globecomm Systems, a global provider of communications solutions and services, has been awarded a contract from an unnamed U.S. Government agency valued at $1.9 million, the company announced Sept. 23.

   Globecomm will provide IT support services for Internet connectivity via its teleport facilities, IP telephone, Satellite television, and WAN optimization. The contract also includes the provision of program management, operations and maintenance, systems development, communications and field operations support, IT equipment procurement, maintenance, storage, distribution, and network connectivity

   The contract is a combined effort between Globecomm’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, Globecomm Services Maryland (GSM) and Cachendo. Globecomm said it anticipates the contract to be fully executed in its current fiscal year ending June 30, 2012.
