Integral Systems Issued DARPA F6 BAA Architecture Subcontract
Integral Systems received a $468,000 contract from mZeal Communications to provide space systems expertise and Multi-level Secure (MLS) network architecture to support mZeal’s Mission-Aware Network Architecture for Small-Satellite Adaptive Systems (MANASSAS) project.
The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) issued the MANASSAS prime contract under its F6 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) program. Integral Systems’ Military and Intelligence Group (MIG) will support mZeal by developing standards for advanced concepts in satellite operations and design.
Lockheed Martin Completes GPS 3B System Design Review
Lockheed Martin has completed a System Design Review (SDR) on schedule for the GPS 3B satellite increment under the U.S. Air Force’s next generation GPS 3 program.
Lockheed Martin Space Systems is under contract to produce the first two of a planned eight GPS 3A satellites. The first launch is projected for 2014. The contract includes a Capability Insertion Program (CIP) designed to mature technologies and perform systems engineering for future GPS 3 increments.
L-3 TE To Upgrade C-band Kits for U.S. Air Force Ground Receivers
L-3 Telemetry-East (L-3 TE) has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to upgrade fielded telemetry ground receivers to incorporate the C-band spectrum for the U.S. Air Force.
L-3 TE engineers have been working with Air Force personnel to test a down-conversion scheme designed to ensure optimum functionality with no degradation to existing performance.
Stratos Inks $315 Million Satcom Deal with U.S. Military Sealift Command
The U.S. Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization has awarded Inmarsat subsidiary Stratos Government Services a maximum $315 million, eight-year contract to provide satellite communications to the U.S. Military Sealift Command (MSC).
The next-generation wideband commercial satellite communications infrastructure and Inmarsat’s FleetBroadband service will replace MSC’s current system. The contract is structured as a four-year base period through July 2015, plus four more one-year option periods that could run the contract to July 2019.
TCS Wins $60.8 Million Satellite Terminal Order From U.S. Army
TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) has been awarded a new order with a ceiling value of $60.8 million to provide Tactical SHF Satellite Terminals (TSST) to the U.S. Army.
This award was made under the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle in support of the Program Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T). The terminals are scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2012.

(YahSat) has completed a demonstration for the space and ground segments of its YahSecure government Ka-band service and is now ready to start providing secure satellite communications capacity to defense and government entities in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and
Asia regions.
The YahSat Y1A service utilizes a steerable Ka-band beam to direct user-placed phone calls and video transmission from the Yahsat man-pack terminal made by Thales, into the Yahsat Transportable on-the-pause terminal and then out to the public telephone network.
